Roger Elkins
Originally trained with ROLLS-ROYCE as an aeronautical engineer, a foundation that has given him an excellent understanding of engineering principals and the automatic attainment of high standards. During his twenty years, within this environment, he has achieved solid practical skills along with academic achievements of Higher National Certificate (HNC) and chartered engineer. Towards the end of this period, whilst holding the post of Business unit leader and Operations manager for a major blue chip company, he has gained significant organisational and people skills. It was at this point, taking with him this wealth of knowledge, he left engineering and joined the world of construction. A world that is not that far removed from his previous one, finding that all his skills would be utilised. In later years, he has continued to add to this skill base, by choosing to specialise on the Electrical aspects and has passed his exams (parts I & II) with distinctions (a trend that is continued from his engineering days).
Steve Messider
After leaving school in 1978 he joined Seabrook's & son, to train as a plasterer which he successfully completed after his three and a half year apprenticeship. As this was a broad based company, he was able to use this to add to his own skill base by training in Bricklaying and carpentry. He formed his own company in 1984 working in the Watford area building flats and extensions. Due his contacts and ability to perform many tasks to a high standard, he became involved in set design and construction, initially for the fashion industry followed by television. His work included Big Breakfast, Network 7, Birds of a Feather, etc. This in turn brought work within central London, mainly in Kensington and Chelsea boroughs. Having spent almost a decade working in a field that encompassed style and innovation, he recognised that as people moved out of London, so too did requirement for these skills.
